In the case where you see signifigance voltage drop they work more as a band-aid..

what I would do to assist the electrical system..

1) Upgrade the Chassis Ground - 2/1/0 Gauge from the Negative terminal to the frame of the car - shortest distance possible, sand the mounting position on the frame.

2) Run a Ground from the Alternator bracket to the frame of the car

3) Upgrade the Wire from the Alternator to the Battery. 4 Guage suggested.
