ive got the type X 6.5 comps and they should get loud without ANY trouble.
mine are running off of 40 watts rms and its loud enough that i need to upgrade my sub/amp.

check your gain settings, perhaps this page will help you

you can also use the ear method, although that can be tough to hear mild clipping.
to tune gains by ear you will need some test tones, you can find them at several sites, usually i use 1000hz for components.
