I think I will go with using a 1F cap. I can get a GOOD deal on one and it will save me from getting a d-block later when I connect the 4ch amp.

Why don't I need to fuse from the cap > amp? What happens if a cap "goes bad" stops working, etc, do the amps just turn off?
