I have a nice (in my mind/ budget) system.

All Alpine System:
CDA-7894 Head unit
4 6.5 Stype speakers
MRP-F450 to drive the speakers
MRP-M450 to drive the sub
Type R 10'' 1000w SWR-1021D (small sealed box)

I bought my headunit used after i found out my JVC 75$ deck just wasent enuff for what i had in mind. It didnt come with a book or anything but its a nice deck (just my roommate messed up when he installed it so the mem doesnt work and it doesnt turn on when i turn the car on i have to turn it on my self)

That all said the Deck has some advanced controlls (in my mind)

3-Position 12dB/Octave Crossover: An 80Hz/120Hz/160Hz low pass filter is available for the subwoofer outputs, and an 80Hz/120Hz/160Hz high pass filter is available for the front right, front left, rear right and rear left speaker and preamp outputs. Either, or both, filters may be turned off.

MX (MediaXpander): The MediaXpander function makes vocals or instruments sound distinct by restoring sound quality typically lost during recording or transmission; this function helps restore audio information that becomes obscured when audio is compressed. The MX function can be applied to all sources, except AM radio. There are three expansion modes for each internal source (CD, FM, MP3), and each source can have its own setting. There are only one or two expansion modes available for external sources.

Bass Center Frequency Control: To tailor bass response to your preference, you may select the bass control's center frequency. You may select from the following center frequencies: 60Hz, 70Hz, 80Hz, 90Hz, 100Hz, 130Hz, 150Hz, or 180Hz.

Bass Width Control: You may choose from four band width (Q-Factor) settings for the bass control; the bass control can be set to affect a wide or narrow band of frequencies.

Basicly i have know clew what to set these settings at...

at the moment all i do is turn up the volume and turn up the sub lvl.
i dont even touch the bass/treb controll... due to the stupid memory problime...

what should i be setting these settings at with the setup i have? when i turn it up loud usally have rap on
