| Good luck getting TC to get on and do any conversions.. they are bankrupt. I seriously doubt they would make a custom neo magnet for a speaker that originates from a different brand manufacturer.
2nd, ED is not a build house, they have other build houses like TC make speakers for them (maybe just the parts and ED assembles them).
For the original poster, some shallow mounts are real light, such as the ED SQ10 or the tangband (forget model number) and they won't hit as hard as other beefier subs. Others such as the kicker shallow mounts will be heavier and be similar to regular sub in output.... however they aren't that shallow.
It really depends from what you have to what you are going to. Usually though, shallow mounts are made to fit in tiny boxes, there is always space and weight savings if you can go to a smaller box.
