Naw just ground to metal under dash somewere, forgot to mention shorted out speaker wires( touching eachother or maybe pinched and grounding out) will cause deck to cut out.
Power lead is batt to deck, ya and btw you said in your first post that your friend sold the car and "gave" the deck to you, sorry had to be anal lol.
