05-06 mustang door pins question

My boss wants to put a Compustar Alarm starter in his 05 mustang GT 5 speed.

I did some research and the door pins are normally closed (read ground) when the door is closed. Also, a problem arises with the Dome Light supervision wire if I was to use that instead of door pins, the light stays on for aprox 30 seconds after the doors are closed. This will cause problems with the arming of the alarm..

Anybody have any tricks or solutions to those problems with this car?

Well, PAC TR-7 using the closed circuit monitering feature.... Diode isolate each door pin wire into the TR-7. Use the TR-7 to trigger the alarm..

Should be good

Anybody know if feature #5 on a PAC TR-7 uses a pulsed output or a latched output untill ground is re-applied on the input wire?

Won't work properly if it's a pulsed output

I talked to PAC tech support this afternoon. The output of the TR7 is latched untill ground is re-applied to the input wire.

EXACTLY what is needed to do this

I'm wondering if anyone else has done this car, and how did you handle the door pin issue?

Well, nobody cares. But I'm sure one day, somebody will see this car and wonder WTF do I do now. So just to let you know, PAC TR-7 works properly for the door pins...

Also, I think I figgured out another cheaper way to do it with a few diodes and reisitors.

You resolved this by using diode and 10K resistors? I saw the digram on Wiremagic but wasn't sure if it would apply to this car or not. Do you remember the colors for the door pins?Trust me others will need this info. They will be as grateful as I am for the info

Door pin wires are:
Drivers: lt.grn/blk
Passenger: Yel/Grn

Iirc, they are in the 2nd connector from the top of the SJB on the back.

As always, test your wires before making connection. I am not responsable for wrong information, or you blowing yourself, or the car up

I've got the TR-7 in there still, and it's working fine.... It's my boss' car so I get to experiment with it I havn't had a chance to try the diode and 10k resistor thing yet, but I'm almost positive it will work.

worked 100% by using 4 diodes and 2 10k resistors.

I did one of these cars about a year or so ago!
I connected a relay off of the dome light wire and wired a capacitor across the coil wires of the relay to keep the relay from buzzing as the dome light faded out and then the relay contacts would drop out instantly after the capacitor discharged. I can't remember the exact capacitor value, mabey around 2200microfarad? I expereminted with a few different values till i found one that worked perfectly.
