| ok, so im having problems getting into the option menu with this thing, is their a trick to it?
first jsut to make sure i understand which button is which 1 is lock/alarm 2 is unlock 3 is trunk and 4 is start.
so i have gotten it to reset the menu i do believe. i held btn 1&2 or 1&4 and then proceeded (within or past 2 sec) to hit btn 4 3 times with it each time blipping the siren. then after the 3 times the siren blips 3 times and the lights flash 3 times.
also after entering programing mode (i think?) if i hit any btn other than 4 it exits programing mode (the siren goes weee-oooo) and then all the buttons work normal again.
the part that confuses me is that as i press btn 4 and get passed 3 times even as i keep trying to press it it does the 3 siren blips and light flashes (thusly meaning reset?) this even happens if i start pressing btn 4 imediatly after entering programing mode.
im lost!
fyi i want to make one the auxilarys latch and change a few other things. |

| I'm having the same problem. I talked to Ray at Compustar and he told me the procedure described above, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get any options to change. A while back I ran my battery dead, and when reprogramming my remotes, I must have screwed up some options.
My car is somewhat more difficult to arm (it's a manual transmissions) and When I go to start my car, it takes an extra two minutes or something before it actually starts, which is a huge pain. Not only that, but I think it's in "Anti-Jacking mode" and it always triggers the locks when I use the parking brakes, and in a few other scenarios as well.
I'd just like things back to normal... it's nearly 40 below here right now and having a well-functioning car starter would be pretty nice! |

| eh, i got my answer to make it work properly, you can find the accurate instruction manual at compustars site under dealer support and then installation tips, you don't hit button 4 to change through the menu you have to hold btn 3&4 for 2 sec to scroll bit of a pain but oh well. |

| I think I'm just gonna disconnect my battery for a bit and see if it gets reset properly, after I reprogram my remotes and my car stereo. Is there an easier way of doing it than this? |

| on mine to reset the options i just held btn 1&2 or 1&4 and then hit btn 4 3 times and that reset it, to change the options you had to hold btn 3&4 to cycle through the menu, reseting it was easy. and on mine simply disconnecting it from the battery didn't seem to make it forget, i left it unplugged for about half an hour and it still remembered my remotes when i plugged it back in. |

| I fiddled around with it a little more, and I think I got things reset - I think I wasn't waiting long enough between the three button presses. I was trying to press the button 4 as fast as I could three times, when I think you've got to wait until the lights stop blinking, (give it a few seconds between presses).
Anyways, I managed to make things work more normally now, but I seem to have disabled the beeps that normally occur when you use the remote to lock the door, unlock, start your car, etc. I can live with it being silent though... I might actually like it better, but I'd like to know how I could turn it back on.
Anyways, far less annoying now. Thanks for the help! |

| button 1 +2 together for 1/2 second will mute the chirps... on the back of the remote it should be listed as MUTE... the siren will now only go off when the alarm is triggered.
to revert back to the chirps just simply press the combination again. each remote has a basic function table on the back of it for user changable features... other mode changes should only be made by a professional installer

| Ah, thanks for that. I thought that those "instructions" on the back of the remote were only part of a complicated procedure, but I guess not!
On my remote it also has Mute, Valet, Passive, Timer, and Turbo. I couldn't ever find good descriptions of what all those modes are... can someone answer what Timer and Turbo modes are? |

| turbo mode from what i remember was an intriguing option, but i have yet to come across a situation where i would want to use it. basically the way it worked (i hope im rite) is that when your in the car with it running u put the handbrake on and then the car will keep running when u take the key out for 2 minutes.
timer wassss, ummmm i think it delayed the remote start, but i really don't remember. |

| That makes sense. When I first wrote my first post, I must have had timer turned on, because it took my car an extra minute or two to start, which I found to be a pain.
I think I've heard about turbo mode... normally the car does stay running after you pull the key out, but then it shuts off after you exit the car and close the door. I'm guessing that with certain kinds of engines you may want turbo mode on so that the car stays running an extra couple of minutes to allow it to cool down? |
