I just bought a 1989 Chev Cavalier Z-24 the other day and it has a polar remote start and alarm combo system in it, anyways I put in a new battery and alternator since the car has been sitting for 2 years, anyways I dont have the programming manual for the system and all I can do at this point is put the system on valet. I need to know if someone can help me out on how to reprogram the remote to the system so that it is of use. I have tried the compustar programming and well it doesnt work so any assistance would be of great assistance, thanks in advance, Mike

push the hood pin down then let it up then push it down let it up and the parking lights should come on then put the key in the IGN and turn it one click b4 the car starts then turn it back and remove the key and press and hold the lock button on the remote untill the parking lights flash a few times then press and hold lock and unlock and the brake pedal the parking lights will flash a few times then relase all buttons and pedal then start the car let it run for about 5 seconds then push and hold the brake pedal and the parking lights will flash again a few times and then you are done.

how many times do they flash it is a code and that will tell me what is wrong do you have the hood closed when you try to remote start the car cus the hood pin is a saftey so if the hood is open then car will not remote start so if a tech is working on your car the motor does not cut his arms off and make sure that when the hood is closed that it is pushing the hood pin down

yes the hood is closed, not sure how many times the lights flash, I will have to take a closer look at it and see, I know when I hit the remote start button that the lights come on and go out as I release the button, sorry for the trouble I am having with this system, and thanks for the help and knowledge you are giving me...

when I use the hoodpin to get into programming I get a code by light flashing of 6-6-3-3-2 if that helps you at all and that is before the ignition is turned on

never seen that try going to autostart.ca they are the people that make the unit you will have to look at the brain under the dash to get a model number then give them a call at tech support they are really good and easy to deal with you leave a mgs on there phone and they call you back same day
