I think i found my problem

i've noticed a lot of people having issues with getting sudden alternator noise with their pioneer headunit. if you suddenly get alternator noise, you probably popped the microfuse inside the deck thanks to a poor ground. with a pioneer you MUST ground the chassis of the headunit to the chassis of your vehicle. same with the main ground. if you don't, you will pop that microfuse that's less than half the size of an eyelash. with this fuse popped the headunit tries to seek a ground through the rca's. this can wear out your speakers a lot faster than they should because of constant flutter. any authorized pioneer benchtech can fix this problem in less than an hour if he can get right to it. just taking a couple extra steps during the install will save a lot of headaches later on."


Guess what i didnt to... ground the chassis...
So for anyone with a pioneer this is probably what happened. Now for some reason its only pulling the ground through my Monoblock amp... not sure the reason for that, maybe its the way the monoblocks circuitry is set up...

oh give that a shot! thats ****ed though maybe the dont have god grounding through the harness... like a manufacturing **** up or something

Yea.. well searching around It seems to be a pretty common problem with the Pioneer Headunits... It seems its mandatory to ground the chassis as well...

I had the same issue with my Kenwood deck. I don't think it's the deck yet when i grounded it right on the amp ground all was fine. Try that and see what happens...
I'm now noise free which i'm very happy....

It's easy to add a ton of equipment yet it's most difficult to make a great sounding system with less.

Ok well i tried that today... and it took away 80% of the noise... I have always had a little whine, but i just learned to ignore it... but now its just a little to loud for my liking. What you would suggest to help with it... That is if it is not from my deck...

Try a set of ground loop isolators (RCA inline), you can get them almost anywhere that sells car audio. If it eliminates the noise than you know that is a ground loop issue and may resolve it for you. If you lose audio all together when you install them, then it is telling you that you most likely blew the ground buss fuse in the deck and the RCA's are attemping to ground from your power ground, in which case your deck will need to be repaired/replaced.

Well i dont know why it happened... but i came home from university today... started the truck and there was absolutely no noise, none at all, Ive never heard it this quiet..haha

However after i removed my cap i noticed that the lights would dim alot more then they did with it in... so I think im going to install it again, it wasnt doing any harm so why not...
