| Hey guys this is my first post in this website.
I have a volfenhag zx-8400 amp and I am thinking of buying 2 kicker 07CVRs in original kicker box. But the thing is the amp is stable bridged at 4 ohm and the subs are 2 ohm so there is no way i can achieve 4 ohm. So i went to a local car audio dealer and he told me I can put the subs in separate channels.
Is it true that if you have DUAL 2 OHM sub woofer you can just use one of its coil and connect it directly to one of the channel in the amp and it would give you 2 Ohm? So leaving the other coil untouched just one coil being used?
He said if i do it for both of them like that i would get 2 ohm per channel because my amp is stable at 2 ohm if you don't bridge it. |

| get two single 2ohm subs or dual 1 ohm
Do not let a coil go unused it will kill it in the end and it wound sound as nice
Use this here Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams, Two 1 ohm Dual Voice Coil (DVC) Speakers

| You will have to wire the voice coils on each sub in series to present a 4 ohm load on each channel. That will leave you with 200 watts per sub. |

| so there is no way to get two ohm from a dual voice coil unless i wire them together? right? |

| thats right. You need an amp that is 2 ohm stable bridged |

| you can also use an accumatch to fake the ohms to the amp

| but in the kicker CVRs the dual voice coil doesn't mean physically there is two voice coil it just there as a dummy for more wiring flexibility. Why can't i just use one of the coil and plug it in directly to the amp resulting in a 2 ohm load. :S |

| HUH? Dual voice coil means just that, 2 voice coils. Powering only one will drastically reduce output and kill the subs much faster.
