| you have a good car for bass
for subs you need TFone 15 with a 1500-2000 watt amp AT 1 ohm. So you need a dual 2 ohm sub.
i would look at hifonics amps. really good for the money and cheap enough on ebay. look for something that is rated to produce 1500-2000 rms at 1 ohm. so you'd be lookin at a MONO block amplifier, also known as a one channel amp.
most people use MDF (medium densety fiberglass) to build boxes. it is sold at home depot in variety of sizes and thicknesses. you would also use the regular wood or carpeter's glue which can be found in the paint section at home depot. to put it together you can use either deck or regular wood screws. I use a nail gun.
u dont need to over kill it with wire if you have 2k rms or less. a few runs of 0 gauge from front to back as well as some good and solid chasy grounds should be enough.
battery wise.......get anything that is brand name and that fits in your car. by fits i mean get something as big as you can fit. yellow top, hawker, nsb, that other blue one you named are all good.
keep your alternaotor
get as many capacitors as you can afford.............just jokin. dont bother with these. just do the big 3.
whatever deck you have is probably good enough.
if you only want music i'd tune to 32hz or so. im not gonna try and explain how the tuning works and how it's derived. basically a box will not reproduce very well any frequency below its tuning point. And regular music bass is in the region of 30 to 45 hz normally. |
