Im interested in an 18v cordless drill. I went to the store and they had all sorts of drills. Can anyone tell me what is the difference between a cordless hammer drill, impact and a regular cordless drill are. I was interested in BOCH and DeWALT brands but I picked up a SKIL brand drill. Let me know what I should look for in a drill, if SKIL sucks ill exchange it for another thanks.

I think this topic has been worn out numerous times, do a search you should find a fairly lengthy topic on it....

I've got a Ryobi one+ system drill, and hammer drill as well... good quality, I've been VERY impressed (I'm an electrician, and it stands up to the deWalt, rigid and milwakee's I've used)

Drop the 18volt idea and go to the 14.4 volt Makita. The battery makes a great stand by power supply for all sorts of testing of various car audio items.
