Who has expertise with painting and sanding, and can lend some advice about getting the shine out of a newly painted panel?
I have used spray bombs to get some interior panels shiny black and would like to clearcoat and wet sand. How do I do this, what kind of paper, when, etc.?

I use crappy tire 600 and more waterproof sandpaper. Just wet the paper and sand it but wait until the paint is really really dry or the paint will stick to the paper.

And don't sand to much in one spot or you will sand down the paint and that is bad!

Use long straight strokes, not circles. Everytime i use circle i sand too much.

Don't use 600. Start with 1000 then use 1200 and finally 1500. You can use 2000 if you want an ultra smooth finish. After you are done it will not be shiny, but very dull, you will then need a rubbing compound to bring out the shine.

hmmm, great advice! I think I have mastered the long straight strokes, should be easy.

Ding Ding Ding someone that knows what they are talking about. I use to refinish bathtubes and it is the same process for repair. If you have any stippling you can use a higher grit to rub it down.
make sure to keep the sand paper very wet and never use a sanding block.

Is this similar to cut polishing, can I use this method on my paintjob to remove scratches?
I'm a little nervous about sanding my vehicle...

wouldnt you want to use a sanding block to prevent the paint from rippling in the area that your sanding??
