For 21g's I'd buy a 68 Charger, or a 93 Mazda RX-7.

Dodge stealth would be a great choice. Hard to find good clean ones now. My roomate lucked out with his 93 Twin Turbo AWD. Bad for a stereo car but fast as hell.

Seriously, stay with the VW idea, but find one of these:

I was going to buy one before I bought my Blazer back in 99ish. I am still kicking myself. That would have been a rad showcar. Imagine the possibilities! Different color fiberglass, vinyl, amps, etc. Would have been so killer!

Was that car above a production car? I have seen it before, and I'm not sure if I keep seeing the same one, or if there are different ones with all those colours.

It was in production but I believe in very limited numbers. It is the "Harliquin" edition.
