My old computer did it with no issues. I just bought a DVD burner on boxing day and I have used it to burn data on a DVD but now I want to watch a store bought DVD.

I can watch it, but I have no sound.......................thoughts ?

I thought I might have no pluged in that small audio cable on the back of the drive but I did and I have sound if I play a CD In the same drive.................

Thanks

Try a different dvd and a burned dvd (if u have one) and if still no sound I'd ask the store u bought it at as it should still be under warranty. Make them do their job and fix it.

Yeah I assumed you already had a program like that Tim, if not that could be the problem. But in a side note I've seen ppl view dvds with microsoft windows media player.

Well most dvd burners that I have seen require you connect a audio wire from the burner to the sound card. If your's didn't come with one, go to the store you bought it from and get one for free, if you don't need one then make sure the volume is up.
