I need some help here man(sorry it's so long)....

My exhaust was makin some noise, so i got under there with a stethascope*sp. My cat converter fell apart on me(was making some terrible noise), so it's alot of cash for a new one right....

I had a muffler shop cut it off, and install a y-pipe, and i'm still using my stock muffler. Now when i try to warm up my 360 as soon as it goes into closed loop(min or 2) it starts acting up. It's building up carzy vacuum that's starts coming through the venturis*sp, loud as hell. Smells rich, so my guess is the o2 sensor thinks it's running lean, so the pcm thinks it needs more fuel.

If i bring up the rpm's it goes away, and idles fine when it's warm. Everytime though that i let it cool, and it happens again 1 or 2 min after start up. Same time everytime.

The muffler is stock, so the back-pressure and quality of exhaust going by the sensor shouldn't be any different. Well maybe since the converter is gone now. I'm lost.

I'm going to have to buy a new cat converter and just put it back stock if i can't get this resolved.

Ever heard of this? I'm sure tons of people have taken off thier cat converter without these problems. I'm getting pissed.

confused

thanx in advance man.
