WE DID IT!! We woke up at 8am drove out to Chestermere Lake and waited until the realter showed up at 9:30 and got the #1 ticket to be the first to pick a home in the new subdivision they are building in. We went back at noon when they opened and there was over 40 numbers given out and we were #1 baby!!

Im now the owner of a 1814sqft 2 story house in Chestermere Lake just outside of Calgary, they break ground in June and posession is supposed to be in early spring 2007, a long wait but is gonna be worth it

Well well well, no more townhouse for Logan eh?

We're breaking ground the same time, and expect to have our new house built by then as well, how much are you gonna end up spending if you don't mind me asking?

Base price on the house and lot with gst and all that crap is $281,500....toss in hardwood and some other uprades and we're around $290,000
The crazy thing is, that this was the only lot and well 3 others in Chestermere that we found under $85,000 in the last 2 months of house hunting!

Its a corner lot thats 60' x 115ft and the house is 1814sqft.... here is a picture of the prints.

Looks nice man, congrats! I hope to be a home owner one day!
Do you have any pictures of what it should look like when it's done?

Good for you dude. Sounds like a nice place. I'd say that's 900 sq. ft. up and down by looking at the floor plan.

And the wood shop? That's called the garage A beautiful thing, the garage is.

Wow, $290k for a house on a lot OUTSIDE of Calgary? Frick, sounds like prices are getting as stupid as they are here. Finding a new house on a lot here isn't possible unless you look in Chilliwack, or possibly Mission.
