| Hey folks
As i feared the backlight in my LCD was die'n and as of today, is dead. It's a 17" Benq 737s-D monitor ($450 monitor then). It's under warranty, about 1 year, 4 months old. I haven't talked to Benq yet, but they cover the replacement of this for 3 years, but i'll have to pay shipping one way (i think toronto is warranty depot - i'm in edmonton) and they cover shipping back.
My questions are:
Will they simply replace the LCD backlight or possibly a new monitor??? (at dell they replaced the whole monitor - seems expensive to me)
Does anyone know where the Benq warranty depot actually is? Website said something about TO, but their hours of operation go by pacific time which is weird.
If it's gonna cost me $30-40 to ship the monitor, has anyone ever replaced a backlight on a Benq, how hard is it?
Are their any local shops in edmonton that due this type of work? I've seen it's generally not too expensive like $50ish most of the time, granted i think i got those prices a while back from the internet.
Thanks to anyone that can offer any info.
