If it is Canadian and you have online banking from one of the major banks, it is easy. I have not been on the buy end of things but on the receive end of things. It is simple. The buyer goes to his online bank, gets the amount ready and sends it to an e-mail address. Next the seller has to answer a question to which only he knows the answer. Obvious this comes from a conversation that the two parties had. The seller goes to check his e-mail and sees a online notification. You click the link, it takes you to the online bank and ask you where you want the deposit put, as in what bank do you deal with (needs to be one of the main banks). If the question is answered properly, the deposit goes through.

To be honest, I like EMT's better than paypal. As long as your dealing with CAN funds, its an easier process for both parties. No middle accounts involved. Right from one to another. I believe transaction fees are less as than Paypal as well. Especially on larger dollar amounts. Its a straight transaction fee rather than a percentage. IMO they are more secure as well. I might be a little biased on that one as my Paypal got hacked a while ago and some serious fraud went on.

I've done the money transfer things quite a few times (a couple times with members here), and it has always been quick and simple....I recommend it.

I've used it also and I prefer it. Seller may want to avoid the fee's of Paypal as the EMT ususally only costs about the same as a money order (~$1-1.50).

I too am a fan of it. It's my preferred method of buying/selling things. Very easy, and almost instant.

I also am one to prefer EMT over PayPal. Especially if its your first time dealing with one or the other.
The explanation above in this thread is bang on though, you log into your bank account online and if its TD (I have TD) it'll say on the left side "Make a Transfer and then it'll direct you to another page within your account, again on the left it'll show you options of transfers one being "Interac Email Money Transfer". It allows you to view/cancel/send etc. Very easy
