I’m in need of a Water Jet Cutter and a etching Machine(hope they aren't the same thing)

I have two jobs that need these machines

I have looked around me with No luck to finding a place

If you know a place by me that might be hiding that can help me or even a place in T.O and area do let me know.

I know Michigan and NY have one but the shipping is just wow

Thanks

the water jet will be hard to find depending on what your doing an EDM might be a suitable substitute, as for the etching i would think that would be fairly easy to track down...

are you trying to cut thick metal and engrave on it?
if so, What's the thickness of the metal and size?

I might have a few suggestions if the metal isn't extremly thick.

meaning one machine.

thats why i suggested EDM it will cut anything that conducts electricity and it doesnt matter how thick, as long as they can get it into the thing it'll cut it and they can get right fancy to

ya, but I was thinking more of a cnc router that can be used for anything from plastic to pvc to metal, etc......

I'm wondering if he is with the knowing of the prices of these machines though.

I know there's one that has a plasma cutter that attaches to it to cut the thicker of the metals.

well i dont think he is planning on actually buying one... it would be nice to get more detail on what it is he is trying to do here, im a CNC machinist and you obviously seem to know what your talking about as well so with some more detail perhaps we could find him a solution.

WOW Thanks for all the replys,I'm not sure what a EDM is

But What I need done is

1,etching some acrylic, Size will have to be re-post tonight, I want one side to have my Business card on it and then the other His Logo

I was told about $100 for the program and then what ever the cost is for the material so I it would be $200 as I need to programs made up.

2,some aluminum,Maybe 1"-2" think or thinner for the main piece and then some for around the Acrylic window so not very thick. He wants my logo around the edges on the one and then his around the other one.

I will have to reply back about the size I'm going to use, But I need to find a place that can help me.

thanks

well an EDM can do all the aluminum work, and i have machined plexi before in my mill at work and its meant for big ass steel jobs... as long as theres a good set up guy and operator any decent machine shop should beable to do the work for you...

Start checking out sign shops that have cnc routers, I know there's alot in T.O.
They should be able to do everything for you as long as they have a proper router.
Maybe advance signage or L.A. Signs and designs, That's if they carry a good enough router if not they may be able to tell you where the closest one is since I'm sure they are in need of one at times.
As for the metal cutting, there should be metal shops around your area that can cut it or even the sign shop would know where.
