I'm guessing they just decided to make a Kool-Aid basketball commercial and it just has a lot of black people in it. Do they always make Kool-Aid commercials with black people? No. So why should it be assumed that they are playing off a stereotype just because this one commercial has black people in it? They could have a Kool-Aid commercial with football players or hockey players. But, because it's basketball and there are a lot of black people we automatically assume it's a stereotype thing they are playing off of? If I start seeing a whole line of black only Kool-Aid commercials I will start to agree, but one commercial that happens to have black people means they are targeting the black market because they like Kool-Aid? LOL!
it is a popular stereotype that black people like Kool Aid. Althought everyone likes Kool Aid this commercial might be viewed by some as stereotypical.
everyone likes rice, just imagine a rice commercial with all asian people in it..........and they would be doing Math puzzles or driving hondas or something.
To complete the stereotype however, I think the Kool-Aid should be watermelon flavor, no? Maybe that would be over the top?
