| i mean, what are you planning to get out of it?
The reality of competing is this.......
if you do it just for fun you will probably not win, there is only so much loosing one can take before it becomes unfun.......most new people quit at this point, probably half way thru the season. most people enjoy winning, not getting smoked.
which brings me to my next point....
if you decide to be a winner and compete on a hardcore level, putting all your time, money and efforts into increasing your spl then you are not doing it for fun from the get go. Trust me, there is nothing fun about being a real contender on the spl circut, regardless of what class u are in.
i dont compete for fun, simply cuz its not fun. I compete to better myself and to beat myself - simpy put, my goal is personal progress. I left the fun part behind somewhere at 148 db mark, cuz "fun" wont really get u far in this sport. It's dedication and focus (and a few grand invested in good gear) that will get u to where u want to be.

I must ask yuli are you apart of the ISACA what is the cost on that and who do I talk to. Would love to get enough points for the world finals. |

| sorry im not part of IASCA. Db Drag is more popular in southern ontario. We had maybe 4 IASCA shows with in 1 hour driving radius from Toronto this season and maybe 30 DB Drag shows with in the same radius.
nothing against iasca, but i personally preffer db drag alot more simply b/c it's a harder format and better structured/organized overall.
do u need points to go to iasca finals? I have seen at least one case last season where a person who did not attend a single iasca event got invited to finals.
good to know u are in it for trophies and respect. just put in some work and im sure you'll get both.
btw, the best first step you can take on your way to winning is getting a good spl meter.

| get a crx. i use the current termlab.
u normally do need points but iasca seems to be so far out in the left field that they would invite literally anyone to finals.
classes for cspl go by power limits and number of subs. u'd be entered in a class which best corresponds to your set up. all of the cspl comps i did in an expert class of theirs (1500 watts + or something), but for the finals i entered Amature 1 class with 1500 watts or less of amp power using an old 1500 watt amp. your cspl class depends on the size of your set up.

Just to clear the points thing up... Yes you do need points for IASCA you actually need 70 points to be invited... HOWEVER they take into consideration for those who do not have alot of shows in their area. You will be invited if you attend and compete at atleast 50% of the shows schedualed 250 miles of your home. ALSO The previous year's Finale Champions are exempt and they receive a automatic invitation.
