Why not order the trophies and use that as a tool to get people to your show instead of using it against people. Lots of bass heads like trophies, so when you publically say your not going to have any if you don't get a big turnout then you might even have less people show up! This is my opinion, so no offence just a suggestion.

Tip:

Get the trophies. Don't attach the engraved piece until the show starts and you know how many people are there. This way you can use the remaining trophies at the next event too.

Something we do to save money and wastefullness.

I did that at my last show..still have 4 trophies left over...
I like putting on shows and help the competitiors get their points... I LOVE TROPHIES!!

I've got about 150 in my mothers basement from my years of competitng

I didnt say I WONT have trophies but just to know how many I should get...

I have a deal with my trophy guy too..I can change trophies that are not used for different ones so you guys that come to each of my shows wont have a collection of trophies that are all the same.

Actually you didn't say that either, you said:

"is anyone coming to this event???

That to me was saying that you won't order trophies unless enough people post they are going to show up, personally that is what I got from your post. If I am wrong than I am sorry, however this is the internet and not all posts come across the way you want them to.

One of the most frustrating things with putting on a show is putting time, effort and money into it, and having a poor turnout. I understand where Peter is coming from, but then again like Martine said it is the internet, and when things are in writing they can be taken in several different ways.

This one time at band camp.....

tis true...

anyways... I just ordered my trophies...bigger and nicer than the last ones

for my August 14th show I will also be having a huge sale for the length of the week begining the 14th running till the 21st

and sometime in September I will be having my finals hopefully I will get good turnout for that since Im hoping to get 6ft'ers for 1st 4ft for 2nd and 3ft for 3rd ...for that one would be awsome to have pre registration...still lots of time to think about that one ... probably last weekend of September
