I use water. 1 cubic foot of water weighs 62.4 lbs., use a scale.This is as accurate as you can be.

seriously, we tend to use the peanuts as we always have them around and we've found them to be pretty acurate.

I use packing peanuts as well. I would think a 3cuft box full of kittylitter is gonna get hard to handle - but it's a viable alternative.

Be careful what you wish for...

Hopefully NEW kitty litter, used would just plain suck!! Of all the boxes we've done, the peanuts are very accurate and easy to get.
