According to JL, they have 3 options for that driver....
All the external dimensions listed are for 3/4" MDF, and they have allowed for the displacement of the driver, port and a brace.
The "purist" enclosure is 2.75cuft, 20" X 14" X 23.7" with a single 4" port 14.7" long. F3 is 30hz and Fb is 26hz.
The "normal" enclosure is 2cuft, 20" X 14" X 18.2" with a single 4" port 16.8" long. F3 is 35hz and Fb is 29hz.
The "db monster" enclosure is 1.5cuft, 20" X 14" X 14.3" with a single 4" port 19" long. F3 is 41hz and Fb is 32hz.
What does all that mean, you ask??....
The larger box will get "lower", you will hear lower frequencies at a higher volume level than the other boxes. The smaller box will be louder than the other 2, but it will not go as low. This is not an issue for most regular music, but could be a problem if you play bass CD's at high volume that have a lot of sound below the tuning frequency of the box.
I would suggest that you try the "normal" box first, it will still sound a lot better than the bandpass box it was in.
