hey guys lookin to build a box for a kicker 12L7. has anyone built a box for one of these? i found the vented box on the kicker website for it. is this box any good? any reccomendations?

I have tried both a 2.5 and 3.25cuft slot ported enclosure from their site. So far the 3.25 is louder by 2.5db's.

I run my 12"L7 off of a RF1000BD. 1398wrms @ 2ohms.

Best person to talk to about enclosures for Solobarics is Rob V.O. (aka LoudBrownKickerColt). He is a very busy man but he may be able to help you out if your patient enough.

Do try the enclosures from the site but make some modifications to the interior of the box for best results.

Lethal, what did you hit with the 12 in 2.5?

ok cool. yea i think im gonna build the 3.25. what do you mean by moding the box? lengthening the port? 45• corners? matting? o by the way this is the first box ive built lol. (any tips would be nice)

also do you think the 2000.1d is too big of an amp to run this sub? i was gonna wire the sub to a 1ohm load. i really dont wanna blow my sub lol.

ok yea i went with the 2ohm version as im only runnin the one. my amps rated at 2000w @1ohm so i was a bit worried that powerhandling the l7 is quoted at 750w [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]
