any opions for a 10" sub that works well in SMALL sealed box? got about .5 ft^3 and powered with 200WRMS. single 2ohm or dual 4. any ideas?

the thing thats killing me is the size of the box. its sooo damn small. already gone through 2 eclipse(sry dont remember modle #) subs because they are splitting where the cone/dustcap meet the surround.

The Eclipse subs work great in the application you have. To me it sounds like you are asking a little too much of them or perhaps have the gain to high as you are separating the surround. This is a breach of the mechanical parameter of the sub. Try a different model Eclipse sub, perhaps a step up model like the Hybrid or aluminum cone series. Beleive it or not, the Lightning Audio Strike series of subs sound and perform great in a small sealed box as well.

what price point are you looking at? what are your goals in terms of the type of bass, low deep or punchy, relatively speaking since that is a very small enclosure?

As Mark and Starterwiz said the IDQ 10" will work nicely in that box. It will drop low and be punchy, also won't break the bank.

But if you only have 200rms for power I would suggest the ID over the IDQ.
IMO the ID series should be right up your alley.

Try the Exile Xtec, it's a shallow mount 10'', 300RMS, and can perform nicely in a very small box. This would be what you are looking for.

thanks guys. threw a cheap lil ultimate sub in there for the time being. see how it does. the subs that keeped blowing was simalar to this in terms of looks, bought new bout a year ago the the logo in the middle is a bit different.

http://www.cardomain.com/item/ECLSW6000

gains are set too high. no "bass boost" its an older alpine amp. 200 wrms at 2 ohms, 150 at 4.

thanks for all the opinions. I was just looking at a ID 10 just a few days ago so we will see. I had a id12 awhile back and it did great.
