So, I went and got a 12" phoenix gold sub from their newest RSD line

thing is great for a small sq sub as far as im concerned

problem is my 1.8 ft3 sealed box isn't so sealed

did the classic test of pushing the sub in and yea goes in slow and comes out slow signifying a leak

also when i have her going i can feel the air escaping around the sub

so yea, i need to re drill the holes and what I was gonna do is fill the old screw holes with silicone then turn the sub and drill new holes inbetween the old ones

the sub will be off set but thats alright


should that work alright, sorry if this is unneedingly long...im kinda bored...waiting for my amp to get in from warrenty

what are you using for gasket material? I had to do this with a used sub I bought recently. I used some closed cell foam tape as a gasket, and it appears to be a good seal.

yea i was gonna pick some up but i talked to a phoenix gold guy, Errin Keeling. And yea I don't need a gasket, since the rubber on the sub provides a great seal

Just silicone the old holes?

you dont need to seal the old holes but if cannot hurt to do it. use silicone or wood filler and your good to go
