hey all,

As stated, this is my first fiberglass sub enclosure. I have done a little bit of glassing before, but nothing this size. The build is going into my 05 mazda 3 sport GT. I'm using older equipment, amp is an Alpine
MRD-F752. It's a 5 channel amp, 110x4 rms + 400 rms @ 4ohm(according to birth sheet). Subs are Orion xtr 12, dual 4ohm, 250rms. I havne't decided on speakers yet, I have a couple sets of components already, but I might buy something else. HU might be my KDC-X891, but I also have a KDC-X969 and a KDC-X915. I will choose the HU later.

Here are a couple pics of previous glass projects:

well this is what I have so far. I started a few weeks ago, but put the project on hold to do a couple other things around the house and to order some glass matt and resin. I ordered more matt yesturday, a roll that measures 3 feet x 50 yards, should last me awhile. The matt should be in sometime early next week. and I'll prob order some resin today.

Pics of progress so far.

looking from the inside of car out the back, I figured it would be easier to glass the one section rather then try cut out a piece of MDF to fit.

Here it is so far out of the car

Starting to build the structure for the enclosure. It took me awhile to come up with the design. I had an idea before I even started, but once I got working on it it got a little tricky. But playing with it a little while in the car with some cardboard I quickly came up with an idea.

And off to a good start

Pic with one of the subs mounted to give me a better idea

And for a test fit in the car and to see if I still like it

It took me a good part of the day to build the ribs for the enclosure, but I really like the outcome.

Well I missed a couple pics of me wrapping the first side with cloth, but here'e a pic of the first side covered, resined and glassed a little. Pics are a little fuzzy, not sure why, maybe if I used the flash

Got the other side covered today, fuzzy pics again

And here it is resined up

OH!!! Before I forget, Heres a quick shot of the car that it's going into.

Hope you all like it, I know I do. And I also know that I have alot of work ahead, but stay tuned.

Thanks all

I like my shop as well, but it's to small for my needs, I like wood working as a hobby, the shop is only 12 x12' . So unfortunatly my big as table saw is sitting outside covered up, I was thinking of building a ramp for it.

The pod by the shifter houses a digital volt meter
