Hi there,
I appologize in advance if my lack of knowledge makes this difficult on anyone

I recently purchased 2 2006 S15L7 solobaric dual 2 ohm subwoofers, aswell as 2 KX1200.1 amps for my 2002 ford focus sedan. (I ran a single S12L7 off a KX1200.1 for a while and decided I wanted to go much bigger)

I know that kicker says the S15L7 can be put in anything between 1.6cft-6cft sealed per sub, or 3.0-6.0 ported. I have done some rough calculating and measuring with my trunk prior to purchasing the subs, and decided originally to make approx. 6cft sealed total, 3cft per sub and simply build the enclosure inside my trunk.

However I was also pondering the Idea of building a small wall behind the rear seats and simply mounting the subs into an MDF sheet and using the trunk itself as the enclosure. That Idea sounded the coolest, due to the space it would free up for building all my amps into the floor, with the power caps and battery etc. But Im not too sure exactly weither or not that would be a good Idea at all. I have no Idea if the subs would perform well in that type of install, or what kind of tuning I could get even if the Idea was at all possible.

Any insight or advice with this would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, this will not work. Trunks are not acoustically sound nor selaed and will not be able to be used as an enclosure. The only way the idea can work is if you get a sub that specifically states "free air woofer" or "infinte baffle" . If you get a woofer with that specification then the idea of mounting the subs to a piece of MDF with no difinitive acoustical chamber (trunk) will work...
