possible to make your own HO JL audio box?

I was thinking of getting one of my buddies, whos a carpenter, to try to recreate the HO box...anyone know the materials they use? is it even possible?

it is very possible. but jl went through alot of trouble to tune it for the sub thats in it.

It's totally impossible. Nobody can build it. JL can't even build it - they do it all with mirrors and airbrush..

its just a big port that circles around and exits near the cone. all it is. just make a box with a slot port coming out the back.then add on a half box i guess that wraps around the top. if you really want send me a message and i will draw you one out so you get what i am saying.

anyone can build it and th theroy behind it is impressive. there is a really big calculation of port lengeth behing getting the sonic waves to exit the box close to the same time as the sub will hit a beat! to much math for a physics student at UofA!

i believe someone just thought...HEY, what if we combine the airflow from the port with the airflow from the cone....durr.

yah i saw the cross section of the box on the JL website...im just wondering if the materials they used are hard to get...and what exactly they did use...
