I bought a BassSlammer box from FutureShop.

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0062099&catid=

The sections aren't completely sealed from each other. A bit of a dumb question, but would duct tape along the seals inside the box work at all. Trying to go the cheap way through this lol.

get a tube of clear multi purpose silicon, will work excellent. if the box is not completely sealed you can hear air coming out from the cracks.

you're asking about the partition in the middle? if so, it won't affect the performance overall, as the volume is still the same for each driver. The advantage of dividing a box is; extra stiffness, as the divider is usually an internal brace, and in case one sub fails, the other side still operates properly(the volume does not immediately double for the sub that is still working). The seems you have to worry about are the edges since you don't want a leaky box.

Yeah it's only the divider that's not sealed. I wasn't sure if sealing it would make a difference or not. Thanks.

never looked at it that way, thought he was talking about the outer seals, not the inner bracing. But if thats the case, then you wouldn't really need to touch it.

What is the divider made of ??
Reason for asking is, I myself purchased a bass slammer box from futureshop and the port was not MDF, it was an extremely thin type of board (the kind usually used for trim panels). If your divider is made of this material, I would change it to MDF before sealing anything...

are you kidding? they actually made a divider out of card board. I would be suspect of the quality of the rest of the box after seeing that. How much was that box?
