well if you can find the T/S parameters, you can plug it into winisd or similar and start there. If it's sealed, I tried it years ago, and found that you need a big box to make most 6x9's sound as good as in the car. I assume that the engineers designed them knowing that they will go into the rear deck and use the large trunk as their enclosure (infinite baffle), so that's why they work best with a large box. Anyway, the way I went about testing them was to build a large box(I think it was 4 cubes), and then tried reducing the volume by placing cut 2x4's inside until I liked the sound. Problem was the sound did not get better. That's when I realized that they need a very large enclosure, which is real easy in a big car...the trunk. Hmmm Maybe those engineers know something afterall!!

so the enclosure that my 6x9's sit in, in my trunk made by the manufacture is not ideal for sound?

ignore the sub, as I don't have that one anymore but thats the best pic I have of the 6x9 boxes

VEEMAN is the only one that has info on my question and the rest are dumb posts that should be deleted from this thread.

yes MD is a car audio school but it is not worth the 3000.00$ yes they teach the basics and i mean the basics like how to use a DMM and how to recharge a cordless drill.. i have been in the car audio scene for 7 years. but some thing that i have never done is played round with a set of shitty 6x9s... yes i have built tons of 6x9 boxes but they have been the normal everyday 6x9 boxes.. i wanna see if any one has tryed like a 3 cuft box for a pair of 6x9s and if it sounded better then free air???? or a 0.5 cuft ported how loud did it get.....

for the two guys that are being SH+T heads i am trying to ask a question to learn and we all ask questions inorder for us to learn. and that is what this site is all about so if you dont want to help out with keeping this site the number 1 canadian car audio site then you should pack up and go home..

ok i wasnt being rude and not answering your question just asking one to you cause i was thinking about going there and if they dont teach you something like how different type of boxes work with different setups and speakers then i dont think im interested in going, thats all, and to answer your question, first off are the 6x9's that you are using just a straight woofer 6x9 or are thay a 2 or 3 way 6x9, next i think that if you wanted maximum bass out of them to put them in a box bout 36" long by 10" deep and 8" wide and port each 6x9 using 1- 4" pvc pipe cut to 10" long per 6x9 thats what i was running in a mustang coupe once and they pounded great, i dont know if i had the box built to spec but it seemed to do the trick really well
