Best placement of port inside enclosure.

Here is a diagram of my subwoofer enclosure from a top view.. Before I start, I would like to say this is the biggest box I can construct, 1" bigger on the outside of any diameter, and the box will not fit. This box will be powering two T110D4's, using a T20001bd amplifier. This box as you can tell, is dual chamber and tuned to 33-34hz, with the subs mounted on the top surface of the enclosure pointing up, and the ports are facing towards a hole I have in the middle of my back seat originally made for skii's to be put through (1992 E36 325i bmw).

My biggest question is, are the ports opening on the insidie of the enclosure too close to the driver? I would guess the distance between the opening (found on the inside of the enclosure) is like 3 inches away from the driver itself.. Would it make any difference if I were to move the subwoofer towards the left away from the opening of the driver?

2nd question would be regarding the divider in the middle of the enclosure. Without this divider, would this enclosure still be seperated into two chambers? In a sense, without the divider, each chamber would still have one port opening to each of their area of space (cu. ft. NET). And if infact, this divider is needed to seperate the chambers into two (which I prefer to have two seperate chambers for SQ + safety of drivers if one blows out), should I beef it up from 0.50" to 1.25" or something maybe?

If you've got some extra input or suggestions regarding my box, please do share with me. Maybe a debate if I should do 1.25" all around for the walls instead of 1.50" so I have leftover space for bracing and to have a full 1.5 cu. ft. NET as recommended (right now, it's at 1.4 cu. ft. instead, dont have anymore space in the trunk).

it all depends really, on one box that i made for my accord i had 2 cd10aw sq's powerd by a kac7252<junk!... and the ports ended where the side ... lol right beside the basket basically and it sounded just awsome. but as far away from the sub the better, the longer the sonic waves can rattle around in the box for the better.

I've been checking this thread like 5 times a day, i'm happy somebody replied finally, thanks zinger.

Regarding the sonic waves, I remember having read this before somewhere. I'd ideally like to put the subs on the same wood piece where the ports exit the box, but space is kinda tight but i'll see if I can adjust it somehow..

However, do you know if the single middle divider wasnt there, would it still be a "seperate dual chamber enclosure" design? And if it is needed to seperate the two chambers, how thick would you recommend the width to be? Thinking about it, you would think there would be equal pressure on both sides, so I originally thought even 0.50" thickness would do, but would the thickness be anyway beneficial in this design like a 1.00" thickness?

um not really an issue, whatever you have will do. in a dua chamber lol there is 2 opposing forces that keep the peice where it is basically... that works. i may have said be4 but i made a 0.8 cuf /sub box for my 10's, and the ports ended right beside the basket of the subs, and i didnt really notice a difference between my reward ported box and my friends forward ported box. maby 0.1 cuf diff between our boxes though.

idn if that really answered your question... sorry i didnt really read it lol had a song i was really into lol. and you must know what its like to have a logitech speaker system lol... really gets you into the music...

well thanks for the advice, i'm already half way through the building of the box, and I ended up using a .75" width for my divider, and adjusted the box side to have the subs mounted on the same piece my ports are, and ended up using 1.5" width for my baffle, and 1.25" all around else. If anybody else got any positive criticism regarding my design, please do share
