HI there. Im just wondering if any one familiar with making a box for alpine type X. What kind of demisions do i need?. This is the first box im going to try to build..

What type of box to you want to build? Ported? Sealed? Bandpass?

Type X subs are very nice sounding subs, as long as you put them into a properly tuned and properly built ported box, you should get a good amount of spl and good sounding bass. 2.0cu ft should be good, depends on how you want the box too look like, such as a cube, wedge, etc.

Yes, 2cu ft is the internal volume (not counting the box).

well i think sealed is a better choice, mainly because the Type-X is a sq oriented woofer, and because you could use the box building practice.

Use the biggest MDF board u can find my friend has a 12" and he tried to make a sealed box out of 1/2 and it rounded out the screw holl's in the mdf we fixed it but it was took a while.

You should always use 3/4 MDF anyways..

Also put the type X in a sealed box.... i like the sound of them in a sealed box
