Anyone have any dimensions for a .65 cf truck box for my jl 10

Simple math here dude.

L x W x H = cubic inches
12" x 12" x 12" = 1728 cubic inches = 1 cubic foot

.65 x 1728 = 1123.2 cubic inches

add about 10 - 15% for displacement of the sub itself, 259.2 cubic inches

total is 1382.4 cubic inches.

take your knows measurements of the subs size, add some room to the outside and then any 3 measurement that are A x B x C = 1382.4 (internal measurements) is what you need.

3/4" mdf takes up space so ensure that you make allowances for it.

Sorry dude it just seems to be that everytime I build a box for my comanche it doesn't sound right. I've never taken sub space into consideration and have never built a box so small i've always had 12's before in a variety of boxes usually basic in design. Just lookin for ideas to create more airspace inside a very tight truck.

Would I be better using a vented box rather than a sealed one?

A ported enclosure is going to yield more output for sure. Provided you have the correct internal airspace and the port is the right size, it will deliver some great results.

If you don't have space to spare, then no. Ported enclosures usually require more space.
