planing on building a new enclosure, this is a daily driver, and i want a fairly wide frequency range while maintaining a decent spl. Anything will be a step up from the sealed box i have now. I have 2 kenwood 1000w kfc-w2511(kenwood recommends a 1.5 cu. ft. ported box per sub). I can get max dimensions of my trunk if anyone wants to think of/draw up an idea for me. I would rather use round ports rather then slot-type. just looking for some ideas here. post anything you think of. thanks

1.5 each, you should be able to get away with a 4" aero for each chamber, or just 2 if you're doing it as a common chamber.

ok heres some recommended specs:
volume : 1.25 cu. ft.(ported)
Voume = W x H x D = 13 3/8" x 17 15/16" x 13"
port diamater : 3"
port length: 7"
obviously with 3/4" MDF and these measurements are external

http://inform3.kenwoodusa.com/manuals/kfc-w3011.pdf

both subs are running from the same amp so i have the question, should i go with 2 single chambers or 1 common ? and if 1 common, should i just double the width and add another port of the same size?

the box in your drawing is about 1cu ft per sub after port displacement. also the port on that box is tuned around 43hz. I think you should go 1.25 - 1.75 per sub and tune to 35 - 40 hz. since you said youd perfer round ports I drew a quick scetch with two 4" round ports.
If you used ports that are 13" long and flared at both ends you should end up 2.8 cu ft internal volume (1.4per sub) and tuned around 38hz.
If you want to tune lower I would say build the box slightly bigger with the same ports. (3.2cu ft+ 13" long ports = 36hz)
You might even consider some prefab boxes. most are tuned around 38hz.

ok thats sounds pretty good, i want to be around the 1.25 per sub mark and i dont know much about tuning/ports. i will play with the dimensions and come up with a final design. thanks for the comment and the sketch.
