box making help

alright, i have a clarion 15 inch pxw1542 sub
here is some specs on the box making side of this sub.
i was thinking of going for the 1.7 cubic ft ported, tuned to 40 hz
i will be making this box with 3/4 mdf
if anybody could help me with dimensions it would be greatly appriciated,

2.75 ported is more suited for a 15 befor sub and port 1.7 would be ok sealed but that box is to small to be ported unless you have 1.7 cu ft for that sub after you calculate the port volume and sub displacment

yeha im figuring it would be 1.7 cubic ft after the sub is in, so now to find the sub displacement

ball park take the sub is around .25 cuft for displacment

k so heres what i got

22 inch wide
20inchhigh
12 inch deep

that brings it to 2.30447 cubic feet

how would i figure out my port dimensions

the depth you have will make it very hard to tune down to 40 hrz without putting a 90 degree at the rear of the port inside the box this is what i came up with 16tx20wx17d
with a 2"x16 port that is 12" deep it will tune around 39 to 40 hrz and the box is 3.14 befor port and sub
