Im wondering if i should build some small mdf boxes for my midbass components or if i should just run them through an open door panel. im building some custom enclosures for the bottom of my door panels in an s-10 truck. does anybody have any experience with this type of install?

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish, an SQ system or you just want it to sound good.

I have built 2 sets of kick pods out of mdf and fibreglass. They took quite a bit of messin to get the driver angle right, and once finished, they had great midbass. These were built for 5 1/4 drivers. Building them in to the doors would probably be better and perhaps easier and I would use the 6 1/2 drivers for that. Mdf rings to mount them to, and dynamat in the doors or build them into your bottom of the door design enclosures. There are lots of pics on this site regarding this type of install.

Depends on the driver, most car audio drivers are made to run IB-ish in the doors, but if the driver was made to have an enclosure or doesn't mind one, then by all means.

Hey guys, sorry its taken so long to reply. I can't find the T/S parameters for the speakers... they are the clarion signature series 6.5" drivers that i am using. If anyone can find more information about these speakers that would be great. My plan is to install dynamat through the entire door panel and build an mdf box in the bottom section of the doorpanel to mount the drivers and crossovers. I am basically looking for as clean of a sound as i can possibly get weather it be an IB-ish or a sealed enclosure in the doors. Thanks for the replies.
