| I realize event sponsors like James and Dave were busy hosting and promoting the USAC events in Western Canada and couldn't compete with their cars. Is that how you guys will be allowed to compete, by paying that extra fee?

| Dave is right, it's a numbers game. Also with so few local shows almost no one would even qualify under the rules. I think they should just say screw qualifying altogether for the next few years. Once they get back up to at least 100+ SQ competitors at finals maybe go back to qualifying. |

| Not like IASCA hasn't had a 'just show up' finals in the past... They are just making you pay this year and do some creative writing. Really - what does it matter?
As has been mentioned many times - make one of the big shows like Spring Break the Finals too. Double hitter - you compete like finals and get your first show of the season in in one shot. |

| To get you all up to speed, there are specific reasons why qualifications are set up the way they are.
Yes, one of the reasons why a letter with a request for an invitation is there, is to help build SQ competitors at Finals. It's not that we're "afraid" we won't have any... please guys, don't make us out to be a "desperate" organization, trust me we are far from that...
We as an organization and I as a staff member of that organization, not to mention a proud car audio Canadian, want to see as many competitors at this show as we can have and as many Canadian competitors as well to bring home hardware. But, we're not going to say "Hey, open invite again this year!"... you have to prove to us that you should indeed get an invite. There have already been some competitors turned down because there were numerous shows in their area and they have been competing in other organizations all season, except for ours. They tried the "Poor me, I want to compete but just haven't been able to, can I please compete at Finals" routine and it doesn't work. But, there are certain individuals who honestly haven't had the opportunity to compete and are truthfully trying their best to do so; as a matter of fact there is one competitor who is driving over 12 hours to NOPI with a half built car to compete so they CAN get an invite. Believe me it's no cake walk to get an invite...
And defro, you are correct, at this time there is less than 30 competitors signed up so far, but the online registration form has only been up on the site for about ten days; as we get closer the numbers will grow.
This year is a very difficult season for all organizations; there are a lot of different factors that come into play for each. For us, we're working hard to bring our North American membership and event schedule back up to where it used to be; and with fantastic people like Patrick Riquelme and Tim Baillie in the west and Jason Gay and Jeff Boudreau in the east, things are coming along very well; thanks guys for all your hard work, it is truly appreciated.
But, we are not going to "cut our nose off to spite our face", we don't want to alienate those who want to support us. If this opens us up for people to take advantage of us, so be it; at least we're trying to make a difference.
So please don't bash us based on perception; if you feel that is the situation, call me up or email me and ask... what's the harm in that?

| i do hope iasca gets more support this year than last year at finals. . so, if i was unable to hit a iasca show because i was either judging or competing in other branded shows that were on the same weekend, could i get an invite, seeing as how i am already making the 6400k round trip to the unified finals already. i am not a member of iasca, but would buy a membership if i had to. i have already qualified for the other finals happening, but couldnt hit any iasca shows withing 700k of my home due to other show commitments and the fact that all the iasca shows held nearby unfortunatly fell of the same days as the shows i was already hosting/attending, it sounds like i qulaify perfectly, under the "unable to hit any iasca shows" rule, let me know |
