hey guys hello..
should I get the clarion-dxz785
or the kenwood exelon kdc-x792 as a cd player?
just bought a new vw city golf

I have to get rid of a 10 year old classic nakamitchi cd-35 due to engine noise ground loop problem and so
I'm experiencing weird engine whistling noise in my system.

We tried another deck clarion lower end new and there was no noise so figured deck (naka)
has to go..

I do home theater installs and quite the audiophile so sound is my passion..
which deck sounds better?

or say along the lines of the naka which is hugely warm & detailed..
bliss

thanks
VM

My opinion,Clarion, however please keep in mind that I can't stand Kenwood...... I used to have a really nice Clarion and after I sold it I regretted it, then all of a sudden I find out it's a sought after deck...etc. Shoulda kept it, anyway, Clarion .

SQ of a system is dependent on the weakest link in the system which is very rarely, if ever, the deck.

Out of the two named, get the one with the most features you like, all else being equal get the one that looks best to you.

You'll be hard pressed to hear a difference.

totally true

i like pioneer because of the way that everything is setup and the ease of use
the kenwood is very close to the pioneer in looks and function

its funny cause i been thinking about this lately.
I'm new to car audio, not so new to home audio.
In home audio, there can be noticeable differences between different pieces of hardware. I don't really hear this discussed too much in car audio. Where are these debates? Are (quality) headunits really created basically equal in terms of fidelity? Do most choose their HU's based on looks and features?

sorry if im hijerking this thread

yes no worriers there buddy but your post is basically what I'm after ,,
the posts above generally deal with ease of use and or features..
I did read that the dac in the kenwood was 192 bit and audiophile quality i just wanted someone to verify the sound .

my naka is nice and hard to let go.
