O.K been using sealed boxes for 10 yrs now and just recently will be trying a ported box. I've always used polyfill in all my sealed boxes and wonder if a ported box would be good to have polyfill.I've read somewhere that ported boxes being used with polyfill and using a mesh grill inside the box at the back of the port to prevent the fill from blowing out. Will fill be usefull or a waste in a ported box? What affect will it have in a ported box. Anyone who has tried or have any info regarding the issue. Thanks guys.

Why did you use it in a sealed application.

I think you answered your question

I usually use fill in sealed and ported boxes, and have never had it blow out the port. Some say it smoothes out the response a bit, makes the sub seem like it is in a bit bigger box.

use it in all my boxes, sealed and ported to help increase percieved volume that way I don't have to account for the lost volume from the basket and ports. I use 1.5 lbs for every cubic foot. So far no complaints and lots of compliments on great bass.
