I have seen a number of amps with phase switches 0 - 180 Degrees. What does this do? Reverse out-put polarities?

phase is a relative term and can only be out of phase or in phase with something else
changing from 0-180 is the same as reversing your polatity of your speaker
so when you change the phase it is in relation to another speaker if its your woofer its in relation to your mid
why do it i can help you get more midbass or remove some of it

On alot of mono block class D amps there is a switch for phase that is used when bridging two amps to one voice coil.

DWVW how do you do that? You have two amps rated at 300 wrms and you want to bridge the two amps to get 600 wrms. How do you wire that?
One amp phase 0 degrees positive amp wire to positive speaker terminal.
The other amp phase 180 degrees, positive amp wire to the negative speaker terminal?

Is that how its done?

Doesn't explain too much further than what I have written above. Not to much written solely on the phase switch. More attention was paid to the bd sync stuff.

But what I gather is all the wiring I mentioned above, plus a wire connecting the negative amp terminals to each other. Then, be careful with setting the gains (I am assuming that the bd sync takes care of balancing the gains for you).

Is this correct?

I posted the link to show that you were correct in what you wrote but that the negative terminals were connected together as well.

As far as I know the BDSync cable ties the gains together but I'm not positive.

im sure that for the bridged amps (strapping) one amp would probably handle the input so one would swing + and the other would swing -
and also so the input levels would be matched
