So I went ahead and opened up one of my amplifiers just to see what i looks like inside.
Carefully and slowly I worked.
Since my amp has a fan that pulls air in to cool it off I found the inside of the amp very dusty and a bit filmy with dust.
I guess running it for several years in multiple cars will do that.
Anyway here are questions.

1.Can I just use a blow spray to clear off the dust off the circuit board?
2. What can I use to clean the circuit board and other items or should I just not touch anything.

What has everyone done here on the forum if anything in similar situations?

in the past i have always just used compressed air to clean all of my amps/computers. works great

I do not recommend that you use contact cleaner on the entire board. Compressed air and a soft brush for most of the dirt. you can use contact cleaner sparingly on some areas, but it goes everywhere and you never know what plastic it will melt. I tends to remove any labels, paint and silkscreening. If there are some real dirty spots, get a handfull of qtips from your Gfriend and wet them with contact cleaner... wipe on wipe off.

Let her soak in gas for a few hours.

If it's still a bit dirty, grab a 7" grinder with a wire wheel on it and buff the crap out of it.

It might take off a slight amount of the coating off the board but I'll garantee that it'll be cleaner than any other methode.
