True the 35.1 may not be as rare as some of the amps mentioned in this post but it is a pretty bad ass amp. When they first came out in 2002, Lauf(Paul) and I had 8 of them and they are a solid amp.

Someone also said that they wish they were older so that they could have heard real quality. You can still get the same sound but just be prepared to pay for it. Back in the day it was pretty much a buck a watt, not .35 cents a watt or less like now.

Sure most amps didn't make the power that amps nowadays do, but there were a few freaks of nature that made crazy power and sounded great while doing it. One of these freaks is the US Amps 2000x which are still around. Jeff from Audioworx benched a couple of these amps at 3200rms x 1 into 4ohm at 15.5 volts and maintained a damping factor greater then 1000 and THD below 0.05%.

Sorry for the rant yet again.

I believe I paid $850 (cost price) bought it from Arrow car audio in Burnaby (where I worked at the time). the retail price was $1599 for the PR-2100II with the 3 band eq with the Led level indicator preamp.

Holy crap that must have been a LOT of money back then. That would have been at least a month's wages eh? A stand-alone car audio store in 1981. Wow. What other stuff did you guys carry?

These are my amps.. pretty rare IMO.

The blade stuff was around but I believe the SE3 series was only a production run of 200 amps.
Also here is my old Sony Mobile ES Gold and Blade Grenade.

^^just don't blow those Blade amps, from what I've heard, it's impossible to get any parts to repair them( any parts that were made by Blade technologies anyway) even though the company still exists( manufacturing different products now).

yeah......... it was a lot of money! But it was the best at the time. Also I had a good boss....... he lets me make installments, like $200/mo.

When I first started there in 78, we had 100w 5 band eq booster & 6x9 triaxial as the high-end set up. The Fosgate stuff came in around 1980..... and we also sold raw Phillip home speakers and passive x-overs, and they're usually sold with the Fosgate amplifiers. the 8" phillip woofer with the large magnet were pretty impressive back then.

There were no 10" car audio subs till approx 1982+. I had to use an ESS home sub in my system. MTX was one of the very first to come out with car audio subs, then Pyle Driver, and later Cerwin Vega......

We also sold: Zapco, Concord, Nakamichi, Fujitsu Ten, Blaupunkt, Kricket speakers, AudioMobile, Monster Cable 300, 400, Ref, 1000M, M-1. Audio Control.

Less is more people.
It's easy to add a ton of equipment yet it's most difficult to make a great sounding system with less.
