I'm thinking about buying 4 HE2's and I've got a 1000bd. Is 250W per sub enough. I going for SQ but occationally I want my ears to bleed. Maybe even compete. I'm going to be putting them into .75 cube sealed each. Thanks

I've been running a ported box with my L7 and I miss the tightness and smoothness of a sealed. Like I said competing is not my priority. Plus I got a prelude..not excactly a cavernous trunk. I just wanna know if 250W is enough for those subs.

Yes 250rms on each of those will do just fine and in .75 sealed each they should get pushed quite well.

I had a Fosgate 750x on four 10"s of roughly the same wattage. My subs had a bit more room, just over a foot each, but that was because I aimed to port the box some day...

If you want to compete, you'll have to guage what other people in your given class are running, I'd say.
But for daily listening...it will be pretty serious with 4 subs.
I had the four tens in an older Cutlass, which is much bigger than a Prelude...and it was MORE than enough with the +/- 800w the 750x provided...
I'd say make sure your front stage is gonna be able to keep up, and such, and that amp should fit the bill pretty nicely

Thanks alot for the info!
What do you guys think of the 2003 HE2's are they a good SQ sub?
My front stage is alpine type R 5.25 Components with a Rockford 350S powering them. I'm running a Pioneer DEHP-6400, an overdrive and a kicker KQ9 and a Rockford 1 farad cap. I think it will be a pretty good SQ system.(At least I hope so.

As far as install, I was planning on building a wide box right at the back end of the trunk with the subs facing up. Is that a good way to go or should I mount them vertically behind the rear seat facing the tailights. Thanks guys

'ludes have always been a bit tricky to get bass out of. Of course the potential is there but I would try speaking with some other's on a Honda or strickly Prelude site and see where there best results came from.

You may want to try a test box and try response curves when moving it in different ways.
