| ok, im pretty sure im buying a xxx 15" d2... my question is will a 15" sub be able to keep up with fast paced music? i listen to a wide variety of music, and the majority of it has fast beats.. i was going to build a ported box, and would like to tune it low, but does that slow down the sub even more if i were to tune it at say 25hz? thanks for any help...

| the "speed" of the sub has more to do with the suspension than the size of the sub.
the XXX is a killer sub, and it is pretty "fast" it will keep up with just about anything, and porting it to 25 Hz is pretty nuts really. you'd probly be better to seal it than to port it that low, and honestly, the XXX will put out enough sealed to make just about anyone happy. |

| Say what? Changing tuning frequency by 2 hz and you are going to hear it? I hope you have bionic ears here. Any particular reason you want to go up to a 15"? What is the next size speaker in the vehicle? I can see a huge hole in your response developing here.

| Is xxx even a good company? Cuz I was lookin at some of there subs on the smartass website and there 12" xs1250 looks exactly like the cheap Sony pentagonal subwoofer except with the xxx logo slapped on it. Just a coincidence? I am not bashing xxx I really am just wondering if they are a top end company or not.

| the lower you tune a vented box the more you will effect its upper bass response, tuning to 25hz is very low and will effect the upper bass attack(fast) i would contact xxx and ask them what they recommend, there is likely nobody better to help you |
