2 10" MTX Thunder 6000's
1 Bazooka EL1500 mono block amp pushing 250 Watts to each sub
4 guage power wire runnin to a distro block then 8 guage to the amp and 8 guage ground
18 guage speaker wire
2.5^3 Vented Box tuned to 32hz
Factory Door speaker(will be installing my Kenwood db+'s in the near future)

Have you considered upgrading to the thunder 8000's? I have a single 12" Thunder 8000 in about a 1.25^3 enclosure with 400 RMS watts coming out of an orion cobalt. It's in my sister's Civic and it absolutely pounds.

I guess more power to a more able sub is my answer to your question.

Do you care what it sounds like? What is your budget? Is it in a Dodge Shadow?

I Am on a budget or about 100$ and not looking to upgrade my amp or my subs right now. There in a 96 hyundai Elantra. I was told my box should be tuned to about 41hz and to upgrade my speaker wire but what else. I want spl not sq so i dont care how it sounds along as its not too sloppy

I would upgrade to 12 or 14 guage speaker wire (although that may not make a noticable difference), definately change the tuning on the box. What I would do is make a box with a changeable port. Get access to a meter and just swap out different length ports till you find the loudest one. It would be time consuming but could be the cheapest change with a big result.

The higher i tune my box, does that mean i have to make my box bigger as well? Or can I keep a 2.5cubed box tuned to 41hz?

You can keepn it the same size, but it might be better to make it bigger. We did 147.3 with a single MTX T81244A. It was in a 4 cube box and 680 watts. It was tuned to about 50-60 hz. It all depends on the box though, so I would start there.

Well heres the thing. I dont plan on going to every sound off around this year. But to the ones i go to i want to be able to compete ya know. Right now i'd guestimate that im hiting high 130's but to compete with two tens around here low to mid 140's is where most people are winning. So I want something that will be loud to the ear and hold its own in a DB drag.

George thinks you should just add 4 capacitors. George knows this will improve SPL in any car.
