| ^^yes, you should consider that. If he does not need fading capabilities(front/ rear), and the amp is 2 ohm stable(should be), then you can run front and rear off of channels 1 and 2 and bridge 3/4 for the sub. You can also try and talk him into getting a dedicated sub amp. The other suggestions are very good also( using deck power), it all depends on what he wants. My young neighbour for instance, just wants a lot of bass with some mid/high. In his case the best(cheapest) set up was to run stock speakers( plus tweeters) off of the deck, and use a mono amp for two 12's in a ported box. Surprisingly, with the bass turned down, it sounds rather good. Talk to your friend and find out what he wants.
