I'm gonna be installing a system in someones sx 2.0 soon. He has a 4 channel amp and a single sub and I'll be running 6x9's in the back and probably 6.5" in the front. New aftermarket deck as well.

I don't know any brands or any more details but I would like to prepare myself before I jump into it. Now Should I run all 4 speakers off 2 channels and bridge the other side for the sub? or should I run the fronts off the deck and run the rears and the sub off the amp? Or should I talk him into getting a second sub and bridge both sides of the amp for the subs and then run the speakers off the deck

Any input would be great...I have enough knowledge to do the install and set everything up I'm just stuck on what is the best way to set it upas I have never been confronted with this problem before

I personally would run the front speakers off the amp and the rear speakers off the deck. use channels 1 & 2 for your front speakers, and bridge 3 & 4 for the sub..

noted thanks

I guess it all depends on the quality and power handling of the front and rears eh? like if he got crappy ones for the front and really high quality speakers in the rear and so on

^^yes, you should consider that. If he does not need fading capabilities(front/ rear), and the amp is 2 ohm stable(should be), then you can run front and rear off of channels 1 and 2 and bridge 3/4 for the sub. You can also try and talk him into getting a dedicated sub amp. The other suggestions are very good also( using deck power), it all depends on what he wants. My young neighbour for instance, just wants a lot of bass with some mid/high. In his case the best(cheapest) set up was to run stock speakers( plus tweeters) off of the deck, and use a mono amp for two 12's in a ported box. Surprisingly, with the bass turned down, it sounds rather good. Talk to your friend and find out what he wants.

well see he already has the amp and deck and sub from his last car....so he will just be getting brand new front and rear speakers....depends how much time I have It'll probably give him better sound running everything off the amp
